Provincial Honours
W. Bro John Tinman was rewarded for his commitment to the lodge and Masonry in general by being elected Provincial Grand Steward for 2008 at the February Communication of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Down. The brethren of the lodge presented John with his regalia and case and John thanked the brethren at the February meeting and wore his regalia for the brethren to admire.
New Members 2007
At our February Communication in 2007 the lodge initiated two new members Bro. Raymond Mc Donald and Bro Keith Wilson, who are the first for the lodge for 13 years. The degree team which consisted of V. W. Bro Frank Williams, W. Bro Francey Brown and W. Bro Daren Patterson did a great job and we thank them for their efforts. The meeting was attended by our P.G.L. Inspector V. W. Bro J. S. Bradley who also paid tribute to the degree team.
Installation Dinner 2007
Our Installation Dinner was held in the regal surroundings of Royal Belfast Golf Club on 15th January 2007 after the Installation of the Worshipful Master W. Bro Tony Martin and his Officers for 2007, and was attended by the P.G.M. of Down Robert Armstrong. The Worshipful Master brought with him a number of past and present Provincial Officers and a number of Scottish brethren, who all had an enjoyable evening.
Update on Shaw
At our February 06 communication it was decided due to Shaw's continued ill health that instead of lifting his demit he take what is known as LOA (Leave of Absence). The brethren of the Lodge are delighted with this solution which means that Shaw will continue to be a member of the Lodge. This arrangement will be reviewed by the Lodge on a yearly basis.
Resignation of W. Bro Shaw Graham
On 17th October 2005 due to continued illness W. Bro Shaw Graham has decided to retire from the Lodge. Shaw affiliated to County from Union Band 556 in Moneyrea in November 1984 and became Master of County in 1988. He became Treasurer in 1990 and did a sterling job until illness forced him to hand over the ropes in 2003. Shaw will be deeply missed by his many friends in the lodge and we all give him our best for the future.
